Restaurants and dining near Clear Lake in Lake County, California
While you're here you're definitely going to want to take in some of the dining opportunities in Lake County. We have all sorts of great restaurants and dining options.
For example, we have a couple who have recreated the original saloon that was on their property in the 1890s and have terrific blues bands that play there on Monday nights.
There's Chinese food, Thai food and quite a few places that just serve what you might have found on your mom's table, too.
In fact, right up the street is a quaint local joint that you can walk to with some good food as well as a full bar and a huge outdoor patio where bands fill the air with joy in summer.
While there are a huge variety of restaurants in Lake County, here are some hot tips on places to go based on the experience of our guests, and ourselves. There are more and we're happy to personalize our recommendations just for you.
The Boat House
Our closest neighbor, food-wise, is the Boat House. They'r just a stroll down the street yet and offer great comfort foods done with a real caring feel. Fresh ingredients, mostly home-made items and a few things that just are incredibly memorable. They also have a full bar and music on Sundays in summer, so being walking distance is a double plus. Oh, and 10% off for guests!
Fresh & Bangin' Eatery
Using a variety of fresh ingredients, including many locally-sourced items, Fresh & Bangin' has a number of selections whose flavors just dance like magic on your palate. There are a variety of local wines plus over 80 beers and a nice selection of choices. Possibly one of the better eateries around and only about 10 minutes from the Featherbed Railroad.
Blue Wing Saloon
While the name may not be demonstrative of this, the Blue Wing Saloon is a beautiful place that is the re-creation of a vintage saloon on the property. There is warm vintage wood inside and the bar is carved from a tree that was on the property. They serve typical California cuisine in an upscale, but not stuffy atmosphere. There are blues bands on Mondays and a beautiful outdoor eating area as well.
Cheese's Main Street Pizza
While Cheese's has pizza, of course, including a gluten-free option, there is also a salad bar and many other choices including calzones and lasagna. Owners Tim & Laura Barnes also have a treat for beer lovers with probably the widest selection of beer in Lake County, and who doesn't love beer and pizza? Of course the pizza's terrific. Cheese's can be a terrific part of a downtown day of strolling the unique shops.
Kelsey Creek Brewing Company
While not a restaurant, the Kelsey Creek Brewing Company invites you to bring food from any area restaurant to enjoy with their craft-brewed beers, which are outstanding. There are several good food choices within walking distance or who deliver.
O'Meara Brothers Brewing Company
With some really terrific beers along with outstanding "pub food" O'Meara Brothers is a really fun, upbeat atmosphere and has been a huge hot spot since the moment it opened. And why not? There are nights with music and the food and beer are always good. This is an place that would be at home in any city but it's in Lakeport.
Old World Tavern
Owned by an Austrian, the Old World Tavern in Lakeport features European fare in a pub-style environment. We really like the food and there are plenty of first-rate beer choices as well. They make their own French fries and they're the best we've ever had.
Saw Shop Gallery Bistro
The Saw Shop is probably the leader in farm-to-table fare in Lake County with an art house feel and a lot of good choices, from buffalo burgers to fish. Open Tuesday-Saturday.
